Kasey,

Sometimes it's easier, when you go to your doctor, to give him/her 'printouts' instead of explaining what is wrong. Print out the diet and your Fitday, print out this thread and the good advice fron Honeybee...

Make that appointment -- you will feel better!

I am very concerned for this member.
BEFORE the blog on Ducky's site this member had started a thread called-"I can't stop!" on 09-07-2007 .
I do feel like she was reaching out before for help and then her later actions on LCF were only a way of reaching out in a negative way for attention. Not attention seeking mind you, but a true need for someone to listen to her pain and concerns.

A person's way of asking for help can cause confusion as to our true intentions because we as women feel a certain level of guilt for even trying to focus on our needs.

We are lead to believe in many aspects of society that we are wives, mothers, daughters in an order that leaves our own identity last if at all.
Sometimes asking for help is the hardest task anyone ever has to undertake when dealing with a crisis.

Dear SinKittyVixen/Kasey
Please start seeking help with an appointment to your family physician. You should have labs done to evaluate your current hormone and nutritional status. These both can add to depression and anxiety. Then openly discuss your depression or other issues with your physician or therapist, so you can be referred to the appropriate help if it is needed. If the current therapist, that you referenced in another post, is not assisting you with some of these issues it is time to seek a NEW therapist.

It is not selfish to ask for help nor is it weak!
Remember this scenario when you feel helping yourself is being selfish...
If a plane is having problems and the oxygen masks drop down the FIRST person you put a mask on is yourself!!! Because you have to be able to breathe before you can help those around you.

So Kasey dear seek the help that you need, because by doing so you are not being selfish. But you are truly helping your children and those in your life get the real Kasey back!

Hello, Sisters in Skinniness

It's been a week since I've been here and I hope all of you who are
remaining on KK are okay. If you are still eating very low calorie and
very low fat while doing low-carb, there is risk to it.

Many of us who have gone on to higher fat, higher calorie low-carb
foodplans are still experiencing very troubling hairloss that started on KK
and may take a while to restore. Are you having any of this? Be
honest. Look in your bathroom mirror with the brightest light on and see if
you can see your scalp. Could you before?

I am really worried about people being afraid to leave this WOE because
of fear of regaining weight, but even worse, because of fear of food
and eating itself! Are you afraid to eat if you feel hungry? It isn't
natural. It isn't healthy, and if you lose weight in an unhealthy way,
it's NOT necessarily better for you than being obese. You can lose your
hair, your pretty smooth fingernails, your skin elasticity, your bone
density, and even screw up your metabolism so it can't regulate itself
anymore. If you aren't getting enough nutrients, your thinking can become
confused, and you are at risk for heart problems due to electrolyte
imbalance. This is especially true if you're using laxatives chronically
which can cause diarrhea and loss of electrolytes.

I have tried to be subtle in warning those of you still subsisting on
egg whites and shakes, lean chicken and Splenda, and no veggies and
virtually no fat. No more. I care about you too much, many of you became
good online friends, and I can't let this happen to you without trying
one last time to urge you to stop this WOE and begin to eat in a much
healthier way. Slowly you can get thin if that is what your health
requires. There is no free lunch. There's no easy fast way to lose weight AND
STAY HEALTHY without intense medical supervision. Even that carries
risk. Slow is best.

Be well,
sunny

I am civil to most people, even the "haters" because that's who I am. And kindness, over and above civility,is a positive emotion that appeals to hurting, disappointed and depressed souls. I've been there, experienced kindness, and am still alive to post. If I can help her, I will.

SinKittyVixen - I totally understand how overwhelming it can be to want (and NEED) to loose weight. It's physical. It's emotional. It's difficult. It's easy to be drawn into the "fantasy" of easily solving all those problems.

I don't believe there IS some magic and easy way. But if you want to work hard and utilize proven methods, there is a lot of success out there with Atkins, as well as other proven plans.

You are welcome at my blog! http://doggygirl.wordpress.com

DG

Let's be civil to this person and give her the human support she seems to need.

Thank you theTRUTH. We closed comments on the issue of her being the mole because there is nothing to gain by attacking her, she's hurting, she's scared, she's a mom with four young children. None of us wants to see her attacked. It doesn't matter if she was or wasn't the mole at this point. She needs support to get her through this and we're not up for attacking her!
